Wow...It has been way too Long!

I had a coach one spring when I was 14 named Joe Maci, Mr. Maci would tell us that ''Excuses are like butts..everyone has one!'' I remember thinking...I am a goalie, I have more than one excuse. My excuse for slipping this year on the blog is, I have been working on finishing my degree. I know it has almost been a decade since I left Ferris so this is a story that everyone is sick of hearing. This semester my academic schedule has Business Law and English 325...both are going good and they will be done in 7 weeks.
Norway is just as hospitalable as last year and I am still enjoying the day to day life. It is hovering around 0 degrees celcius now but still no snow down by us. A couple hours north of Sarpsborg, it is winter everywhere you look!
As for hockey, we are doing well. We have managed to stay right around the top of the standings even though we really haven't played that well until yesterday. We beat Storhamar, usually a great defensive team, they came to our rink and kept it to a 1-1 tie after the first. The second period saw Alex Larson, one of our new additions, score 4 goals in 8 minutes. We never looked back and the game ended 7-2. Before that, we had won 5 in a row leading up to last Saturday's rivalary game against Sterjne. We were slow to get going in their rink despite a great, sold out, atmosphere. I was brutal in warm-up and they scored on the 2nd shot of the game...I thought this could be a long day at the office!!! I found my way as the game went on but we were not able to score in the first or second period. Finally, on the powerplay late in the game we tied the game at 1. The game went to over time and then to a shoot-out, much to the delight of the intoxicated Norwegians in the stands. Unfortunately for us, they scored in the sudden-death round of the shoot-out to give Sterjne the extra point.
Personally I have felt good lately, I think that our goalie coach is helping and I have got some bounces. While on the road, I have won 4 straight 'Player of the Game' awards... a couple jackets, a t-shirt, and some beer money...Still no faucets or wine glasses but I will let you know. Always miss the case of beer in Cardiff:)
Happy Halloween!
