A very enlightened person once told me to ''Never wish time away..'' however, often in the dead of the season or the 'Dark November' hockey players just wish for the stretch run to get here. During those dark days, while I was not wishing time away, I was; playing hockey, finishing 2 more college classes (2 B+'s), earning back the heart of a young lady and visiting my favorite vacation spot, Detroit, Michigan...although I was very negligent to this site.. I regret it and you have my word on a weekly update through the rest of the season.
A quick update on hockey, we have been on a 1980's roller coaster since I last updated this. The coasters in the 80's never really went that high or down that low and in turn were not that exciting either. That is our last 15 games in a nut shell. We have only played good enough to keep us in the hunt. So with 13 games left, we are tied for second, 7 points out of first place. The good news is we are coming off a huge win last night on the road in Stavanger and we get to play Valerenga (first place team), 4 more times. We control our own destiny in our quest to repeat as regular season champs. It is going to be a tough road but I am really looking forward to the challenge.
Personally on the ice, I have continued to benefit from our goalie coach. I feel confident out there and the boys seem to share that confidence which makes it fun to play. Hockey Norway awarded me with the 'Player of the Month' for Norwegian Hockey in November and the opposing teams have given me a couple player of the game awards lately, including a table saw last night. The table saw is going to the goalie coach, he thinks he should get every 3rd award. Damn socialist Euro's :):)
In the picture, is my niece Andrea and I on Christmas Eve morning... every minute with her over Christmas was great. We all love her sooo much!! The other picture is one from the ice. The last time we played Valerenga.
